This year the Fire Museum
Network will award two scholarships to the Annual
Seminar under the categories of Museum Professional
and New Member. Each scholarship recipient will
receive a registration fee waiver to help offset
expenses, a value of up to $200.00. The deadline for
applications is September 10, 2009.
Applicants are required to
submit a letter from their institution's director,
board president or other supervising authority and a
cover letter with a brief essay explaining how they
will benefit from attending the meeting and how they
will apply what they learn at the meeting to their
institution. Scholarship recipients are expected to
attend the entire Annual Meeting, during which, they
will be recognized.
Please include the following
information your cover letter:
1.
Your contact
information including name, address, email,
telephone and institution information
2. Indicate which
scholarship you are applying for, Museum
Professional or New Member.
A Museum Professional is any staff member of a fire
museum. New members are those who joined the Network
in 2008 or 2009. To verify your eligibility, the
first digit of your membership number indicates the
year you joined. Any membership number beginning
with 8 or 9 is eligible.
3. Indicate if anyone
from your institution has previously attended a Fire
Museum Network Annual Meeting
4.
Explain how you will
benefit from attending this meeting. Provide
specific examples and/or goals.
5. Explain how the
information you acquire will be applied when you
return to your institution.
Attach a letter of
recommendation from your institution's director,
board president or other supervising authority.
