The 5th annual Fire Museum Network Seminar will take place in Phoenix, Arizona from Saturday, 14 November, through Monday, 16 November 2009. That time of
year typically has pleasant weather in Phoenix, with daytime temperatures in the 70s and nighttime temperatures in the 50s.
The conference will be hosted by the Hall of Flame Fire Museum. Seminar headquarters will be at Phoenix's Doubletree Suites Hotel offering a special rate of
$125 per night, single or double occupancy, including complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and complimentary breakfast.
On Saturday, there will be a round of workshops and presentations at the hotel, including lunch at the hotel, followed by a reception and dinner at the Hall
of Flame Fire Museum. There will be a few workshops at the museum on Sunday followed by tours of either the Phoenix Fire Department or the Commemorative Air
Museum in Mesa (including a B-29 and many other military aircraft) and the Arizona Historical Society Museum in Tempe. On Monday, we are planning an optional
all-day bus excursion to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The seminar fee has not yet been determined, but it should be in the $80-$95 range (not including the trip to the Grand Canyon). Any questions about the
program should be referred to Hall of Flame Executive Director Peter Molloy at
petermolloy@hallofflame.org.
In addition, this year the Fire Museum Network will award two scholarships to the Annual
Seminar under the categories of Museum Professional and New Member - more info on the
Scholarship page.
